A dental implant involves the placement of a biocompatible titanium tooth root around which bone and gum tissue will grow to secure the implant. This implantation is done by an oral surgeon, and in my practice we work closely with several local oral surgeons and periodontists whose offices are conveniently located near ours. Once the root is placed, we will craft a tooth-colored crown custom fit to look as natural as your own teeth. This crown may be crafted in our office using our advanced CEREC AC Bluecam technology, or it may be made by Mark Whitaker and his staff at Universal Dental Labs in Greensboro, from quality materials made in the USA. Our proximity to this trusted manufacturer is convenient for our patients -- If a crown needs further adjustment for a perfect fit, it is fine-tuned back at the lab, and promptly returned to our office. Soon most implant crowns will be restored in our office with the latest CEREC technology.
