Dr. Mark E. Hyman is a renowned dentist and public speaker whose work is characterized by his warmth, enthusiasm, sense of humor, and passion for dentistry. His commitment to his patients is evident in his high-quality approach to dental health, emphasizing long-lasting relationships with patients and using the most state-of-the-art equipment available.
As a Greensboro native, Dr. Hyman is especially happy to utilize his cosmetic and family dentistry training to benefit those in the community, including those from Winston-Salem, High Point, and the entire Piedmont Triad area. Dr. Hyman received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his dental degree from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. After receiving his dental degree, Dr. Hyman underwent a four-month internship as a volunteer dentist in Israel. He then completed a two year General Practice Residency in Oral Medicine at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Dr. Hyman has lectured throughout North America at every major dental meeting and has frequently been noted as a top speaker at his engagements. Many who've seen him speak have raved about his inspiring, uplifting message. For the last ten years, Dr. Hyman has appeared in Dentistry Today magazine's list of top 100 speakers in dentistry.
Dr. Hyman serves on the surgical staff of Moses Cone Health System. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and was elected President of the Guilford County Dental Society in 1991. He currently teaches at the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida, as well as the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, where he serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor. Dr. Hyman was honored by the North Carolina Dental Society as Young Dentist of the Year in 1995 and has received the Mastership Award of the Academy of General Dentistry.
He and his wife, Anita, have three children, Sam, Danielle, and Evi.

Dr. Hyman reached his half-century mark on July 24, 2008, and the staff made sure everyone visiting the office shared in his special day. From parking lot decorations to family photos, stunning t-shirts to a special lunch, the celebration was a week-long event. The capper was a dinner in Chicago for Dr. Hyman with his all time baseball hero, Bob Gibson, former right handed pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, who is considered to be the greatest big-game pitcher of his era.

Dr. Farless was awarded his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree by the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry where he was named to the Dean's List. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Farless served as a volunteer and Patient Care Coordinator at the Student Health Action Coalition (SHAC) during the four years he was earning his dental degree. Dr. Farless also served as a volunteer at the North Carolina Missions of Mercy Clinics, and traveled to Ecuador in 2007 to provide dental care to the underprivileged as part of the Dental Community Fellowship, a local chapter of the Christian Medical and Dental Associations. Dr. Farless grew up on his family's farm in Merry Hill, North Carolina. He and his two brothers, Wood and Elliott, who still work on the farm, spent weekends and summers helping his parents grow tobacco, peanuts, cotton, and soybeans, He graduated from Lawrence Academy, a small private school for Kindergarten through 12th grades. During his high school years, his interest in becoming a dentist was sparked by his uncle who is a periodontist in Greenville, North Carolina. His parents, who believed education was extremely important, had always pushed him to explore other opportunities beyond returning to the farm and were delighted when he decided to pursue his interest in dentistry. The summer after his freshman year at Chapel Hill he worked with a local dentist and became focused on pre-dental studies. He was accepted into the UNC School of Dentistry after spending a year as an intern, receiving hands-on training with a prosthodontist working in his practice and the lab.
Dr. Farless has many interests outside the dental office, including athletic pursuits. He has served as captain for the past five years of both a championship innertube water polo and an innertube water basketball team. He also plays flag football, league basketball and softball. As an avid outdoorsman, Dr. Farless also loves to hunt and fish, but is happiest spending time with his wife, Katherine Parrott Farless, or "Katbird," and his dogs, Buckley and Sprig. He met Katbird when they were undergraduates at Chapel Hill while she was pursuing a degree in public relations. She works in the banking industry and as a Lexington, North Carolina native, is excited about their new life in Greensboro which brings her closer to her family.
