Allanna is a dental hygienist and treatment coordinator who has been practicing with Dr. Hyman for almost nine years. She was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from Guilford Technical Community College.

Allanna was born in Concord, NC, and lived in Lake Norman and High Point during her teen years as her mother and father pursued life separately but parented with unity. “My family is rich in longevity as I have three grandparents who still live in Concord. As a result of my parents’ second marriages and my marriage to a man with a cool mom and dad, I am the proud daughter to six parents! As for me, I am so happily married that sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure life is real. Justin and I have begun our family with two four-legged kids and are excited about dogs being great practice for the real deal in the future.”

When Allanna is not at work, “I chase my dreams as an entrepreneur and play! I enjoy trail runs and Hot Yoga for exercise. I make time to read daily and to learn at least one thing new. Playing on the lake or golf course with my dad and husband, and vacationing on the beach at DeBordieu with my mom and friends, are some of my favorite ways to spend a weekend.”

Allanna says that the best thing about working at the practice is that some of her closest friends also work there. “It is an environment where laughter, grace, personal growth, and true friendship abound!  And yes, even Dr. H is included. I believe we bring out the best in each other so that is what patients get!”

One of her philosophies in life is, “it should never be ’lonely at the top.’ If you find yourself there, go down to serve and help others join you!” Allanna also, “still believes in miracles, and giving God all the glory.”
