Carla Smith grew up in Anderson, SC, where her parents and two of her three brothers still live. She was awarded her degree in Dental Assisting in 1993 and joined the practice seven years ago. While preparing to enter the dental hygiene program at her school in South Carolina, she taught the clinical portion of dental assisting to other students

Carla’s oldest brother and youngest brother each have a son and daughter and she admits, “I love spoiling my nieces and nephews.” Carla and her husband, Jeff, have two four-legged doggie children of their own. Jeff grew up in Thomasville and “when we were married, I agreed to move to NC, as long as I could go home once a month and we had a good long distance plan so I could call home every day! Nine years later, I have been true to my word.”

Carla considers every day a reason to celebrate. “I love to laugh and have a good time. I feel I have found my home at this practice. Dr. Hyman allows us to be ourselves! "Our team works so great together!"
