Lauren Fuquay grew up in Danville, VA, and completed her studies at Virginia Western for Dental Hygiene and worked in Virginia for five years as a dental hygienist. After she earned her North Carolina Board Certification, she moved to Greensboro and has worked with Dr. Hyman for almost three years.

Lauren’s parents still live in Danville, and she visits them frequently. She also has an older sister who lives in Virginia Beach. Right now, her immediate family includes her cat, Chloe, and herself, but she hopes to have a family of her own one day.

When she’s not caring for patients, Lauren loves to be outdoors, hiking, exercising, or just relaxing with a glass of wine on a patio. She also enjoys cooking with her boyfriend, Dan, as they experiment with new dishes. Lauren admits she has a “passion for fashion” and is “happy hanging out with family, friends, and my sweet boyfriend! It doesn’t matter what I am doing on my time off, it’s the people I am around that makes any time a good time.”

Like her teammates, Lauren considers the practice to be her second family. “I love working not just with teammates, but family. It is like having eight more sisters and another dad. We truly treat each other and our patients like we are part of one big family, and I love that!”

Lauren is proud to be a dental hygienist. “I feel very blessed every day I walk out the door and live life…and I have so much fun doing it!” Her favorite quote is by Robert Byrne – “The purpose of life is a life of purpose.”
